Walk/Jog - LearnToRun

You'd like to learn to run, but perhaps you've never run before, or not had success when you did try it, or you've been away from running for 3 months or longer. Most people do too much too soon too quickly. In this workshop you will work through the first session of a tried-and-true gentle, progressive Walk/Run program. You'll discover how easy running can be, and that anyone can do it!
Walking Qigong

Laughter Yoga

Laughter Yoga is a series of breathing and easy movements exercises designed to teach the body to laugh with out depending on jokes or humor. Why call it Laughter Yoga? Yoga means union and laughter brings all 3 aspects of mind, body and spirit together. We can also call it 'laugher-cise'. It is an aerobic exercise, a stress buster, it can include techniques that are playful, yogic based, clapping, chanting, deep breathing, humming, etc, all chosen to lighten our spirit and give a feeling of well-being through the release of endorphins. Laughter has holistic benefits on all levels; it is a pain reliever, improves immunity, lowers blood pressure and it improves your sense of humour.

Balls and Bands (This workshop is full)

Ever heard of a "Stability Ball?" Or maybe you're not sure what to do with your own Stability Ball?
This workshop will teach some fun and effective exercises that will activate the whole body and challenge the core - with simple Balls 'n Bands that you can easily use at home anytime. The stability ball increases balance, strength, coordination as well as cardiovascular fitness. Have fun learning how to use the ball for warm-up, cardio, strength-training as well as for stretch. Incorporating resistance bands with the stability ball for strength training will help you challenge your core. In this workshop you will learn some basic band exercises that you can do at home with or without the ball.
Learn To Dive

Come and learn to dive... off 1 meter, 3 meter or higher???? Learn some basic skills to have you dive safer, don't hurt your head, legs or any other part of your body... challenge yourself to jump off something high up. Warm up, trampoline, dryboard, come and try it all......Note: Transportation provided. Taxi shuttle service departing at 12:30pm. Workshop to be conducted at the South Surrey Aquatic Centre (10 minute drive from Ocean Promenade Hotel).
Synchronized Swimming
Janice Birch - Olympic Silver Medalist - White Rock
Grab you suits, get your goggles, and don't forget those nose clips! (accessories will be included)
Janice will walk you through some very simple and gentle moves and will share stories of her Olympic experience at the1996 Summer Games. And not to worry - deep water need not apply. You'll be amazed at the control and strength that is needed to keep yourself at or near the surface of the water and we'll go retro and try to re-create Saturday Night Lives' 1985 Synchro skit. Laughter will certainly prevail and wonderful memories will be had. Don't forget your bathing cap and smile!
Transportation provided. Shuttle will leave at 12:30pm. Workshop takes place at the South Surrey Aquatic Centre (10 minutes from the Ocean Promenade Hotel).

Celebrate an inspiring day of activity with good food and drink at beautiful new "Deluxe Beach Restaurant" just down the promenade from the every WOMAN Ocean Promenade Host Hotel... the perfect relaxing ending to a wonderful day! Entertainment will include a Belly Dance performance by Goddess Annyse, intuitive fun with Cheryl Brewster and a Zumba Demo to get us all moving again with the Zumba White Rock Trio of Mary Lou Rust, Cherie Sutherland and Janet Betteridge... All dinner proceeds will support less fortunate women on our Peninsula through the White Rock/South Surrey Community Foundation.
