This was just sent to me from Mira Mira, belly dancer extraordinaire and the lovely Asmira's gorgeous daughter.
Poem by: MAYA ANGELOU
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own, even if she never wants to or needs to... something perfect to wear if the employer, or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
a youth she's content to leave behind.... a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to retelling it in her old age.... a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra... one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ........
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family... eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal, that will make her guests feel honored....
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
a feeling of control over her destiny... how to fall in love without losing herself..
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit a job, break up with a lover, and confront a friend without; ruining the friendship....
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
when to try harder.... and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves, the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents.. that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over.....
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more.... how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW.. .
whom she can trust, whom she can't, and why she shouldn't take it personally...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go... be it to her best friend's kitchen table.. or a charming Inn in the woods.... when her soul needs soothing...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she can and can't accomplish in a day... a month...and a year...

We would like to wish each one of you a very happy holiday season and all the fun that goes along with it. Just like the holidays, every WOMAN is about fun, and trying new things with people who make you feel and act the best that you can be.
In addition to fun, every WOMAN is also about healthy mind and healthy body. We are honoured to have three resident experts to share their Holiday tips blog-style, one of the newest additions to our website. Dana Fleming challenges us in her first blog to keep a Money In / Money Out Log, and offers you the opportunity to get in touch with her for a spreadsheet that will help you keep track of your expenses. Dana Lis provides Nutrition Tips and Holiday Recipes to keep you on track and motivate you with guidelines over the holidays. Lynn Kanuka shares her expertise on the importance of activity every day - not just during the holiday season.
Please visit the blogs below and pass on this information to anyone you know - they are worth the read - part of your path to continued health and wellness. And we hope that you will come back for more. Look for new blog entries by the 15th every month.

If you are thinking of joining an every WOMAN event, you are probably thinking, "it looks like fun, I want to try something new, I hope my body is able to actually do everything!" Well that's great! You are on the right track. What you are probably not thinking about is how you are going to meet someone new who is going to inspire you, about how the interaction with that person is going to seem natural because you have just both launched sweat beads onto each other during your Nia workshop and you later reached for some water at the same time and bumped elbows. You are not realizing the possibility of connections out there or that every WOMAN is going to inspire you to sit back and think about what you really want. every WOMAN is about possibility and opportunity. What are the chances that you are still reading this blog entry? What are the chances that you are going to read Véronique da Silva's blog on every WOMAN - Victoria (including photos) or Gail Johnson's blog at www.blushmom.com. Connections can be made everywhere. Go to www.ning.com and join the every WOMAN group. Go to www.facebook.com and join every WOMAN. You will be surprised at what you find - it is more than inspiring through physical activity. And stay tuned for the new every WOMAN Nutrition, Financial and Be Active! blogs, coming this month to www.everywoman.ca

Well holy crap, this is it. We are now blogging. every WOMAN is blogging. We now have a blog.
Nope, this does not count as exercise. Not even close. But hey! I think it counts as support! Like exercise, if you are not motivated to blog, then along with a great-looking laptop (and/or a great pair of running shoes), you should obtain a partner. So....let's work together, we'll remind you to be active and you remind us to keep blogging. So get out there! Keep moving!.....er um, keep blogging? ~ Kerri
